AIM OF THE PROGRAMME

Beykoz University Psychology Undergraduate Program aims to enable students to acquire strong theoretical knowledge in different fields of psychology and learn social changes affecting both individuals and societies. It is also aimed to raise psychologists who can approach to the family and the society as part of various social systems and assess individual and societal factors with an interdisciplinary approach.

One of the most important aims of Psychology Undergraduate Program is to enable students to apply and enrich theoretical knowledge by providing opportunities such as internship and scientific research. Another important aim of the program is to allow students to take social context into account in assessing individual variables by providing not just psychology courses but also courses in other social sciences such as sociology and history. Besides, students will be able to acquire knowledge and practice regarding not just clinical psychology but also in other fields of psychology such as social, developmental and cognitive psychology so that they will be adopt a comprehensive approach to assessment of psychological variables.

Another aim of Psychology Undergraduate Program is to enable students to conduct scientific research and analyze psychological variables using research skills that they have acquired in computer-based statistics courses. The students will also be encouraged to attend scientific events such as conferences and symposiums, run social projects and organize civic engagement activities. Through these events, projects and activities, the students will be able to put their theoretical knowledge into practice, improve their social skills and contribute to the solution of social problems.
