SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: The main purpose of this course is to raise students' sensitivity and awareness about business ethics. Within the scope of the course, students will learn not only the conceptual knowledge, but also the reflections of the knowledge of business ethics on the practices in the organizational field.
Course Content: In this course, concepts, approaches and developments related to business ethics will be introduced, and some applications of business ethics abroad and in Turkey will be examined. The basic characteristics of an ethical management system and the processes of creating it will be discussed.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) are those describing the knowledge, skills and competencies that students are expected to achieve upon successful completion of the course. In this context, Course Learning Outcomes defined for this course unit are as follows:

  3) They can describe ethical sensitivity in the problem solving process.

  6) They can explain what it means and importance for businesses to have a business ethics program.

  1) They have realized the increasing need for business ethics and ethical issues as a result of globalization.
  2) They have understood their responsibility as a manager and employee in order to provide a working environment where ethical values ​​are valid in the businesses they work for.

  4) Identify and exemplify ethical problems in business life.
