AIM OF THE PROGRAMME

Beykoz University Department of Psychology Undergraduate Program aims to provide students with a theoretical background in different fields of psychology and to acquire information about social changes that affect individuals and society. The program is aimed to educate students to be psychologists who can consider the individual and society as a part of different social systems such as family and society, and who can evaluate the individual and society with an interdisciplinary approach.

One of the most important aims of the Psychology Undergraduate Program is to support students to take part in different applications such as scientific research and internship, and to provide the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice and to enrich their knowledge of psychology. Another important aim of the program is to support students to evaluate the individual in a social context by gaining knowledge in fields such as sociology and anthropology, not only psychology, with courses to be taken from different departments. On the other hand, it is aimed to enable students to gain knowledge and experience in different fields of psychology such as developmental, social, cognitive or clinical psychology, in order to be able to evaluate psychology issues with a comprehensive perspective.

Another aim of the Psychology Undergraduate Program is to support students to acquire the necessary equipment to conduct scientific research and also to acquire the ability to analyze psychology issues with the scientific method through computer-aided statistics education. In addition, it is aimed to provide opportunities for students to participate in scientific meetings such as congresses and symposiums, to produce social projects and to carry out social sensitivity studies, to put their theoretical knowledge into practice, to improve their social skills and to contribute to the solution of social problems.
