SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to provide the students with the basic knowledge about the development of cinema from the genesis to the present, cinema theories and trends, to develop their ability to look at the film from the eyes of a filmmaker and to learn how to read a film with the information they have learned.
Course Content: In this course, after the discussion of basics of cinema theories and paradigms in class, the students prepare written analysis of the pioneering films and film theory.

The course will be held face to face in the classroom.
