SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: In this lecture, a comprehensive explaination as well as tecniques and application process of procurement which is one of the most important function of logistics management will be given the students. A baseline for the purchasing professionals in all sections of the industries will be founded. The impact of procurement in organizations will open a new horizon for students. This lecture covers the place of procurement in logistics process, negotiation process, supplier selection and evaluation.
Course Content: Procurement process, from a narrow point of view, is regarded as a paper work,but actually it has a large scale and is very difficult to controll with a complex structure. Certainly, one of the biggest role which leads to this complex structure is the organizational assumption and the importance to this function. The more the importance the more complex is the structure but in opposite, it will be more professional in favor of the organization.
In this lecture the students will be given examples that enable to understand the subjects above and to rise awareness how to play active role in such operations.

  2) Can interpret national and international purchasing environment, regulations and documents that are used
  3) Can evaluate his/her acquired talents and know-how in purchasing and contracting and identify priorities by defining needs
  4) Can follow information in purchasing and contracting reaching a notable competence level
