SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: It is intended that health technicians will be able to intervene in any situation that may jeopardize the life that they may encounter within the context of first aid.
Course Content: The aim of the course is to provide knowledge for Civil Aviation Cabin Services Program students (Cabin Officer candidates) about human physiology, altitude physiology, and changes in flight. It is aimed for them to evaluate health problems they may face during flight, to take necessary precautions accordingly and provide them knowledge and skills about international health rules, procedures, travel health and hygiene issues.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) are those describing the knowledge, skills and competencies that students are expected to achieve upon successful completion of the course. In this context, Course Learning Outcomes defined for this course unit are as follows:
Knowledge (Described as Theoritical and/or Factual Knowledge.)
  1) Basic professional knowledge.
  2) Know the situation of emergency medical services in the world and in Turkey and know the duties and responsibilities of emergency aid technicians in this system.
  3) Know individual and organizational communication principles.
  4) It has knowledge about quality development and quality standards.
  5) Emergency patient evaluation; Know primary and secondary examination principles.
  6) Know patient transportation methods.
  7) Know simple recovery / extraction techniques in traffic accidents.
  8) Has knowledge about the mechanical and technical equipment of emergency vehicles.
  9) Has basic knowledge about human anatomy, physiology, pathology fields
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) Having knowledge and skill about emergency vehicle use
  2) Ability to defibrillate and cardioversion
  3) To be able to control bleeding
  4) To be able to maintain and maintain physical and mental health at the highest level
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Decides calm, fast, serial and correct at the scene
  2) Keeps the necessary records of the patient in accordance with the procedure.
  3) Drugs and fluids used in prehospital emergency care have knowledge and application skills
  4) Has the concept of continuous professional development in line with professional and universal values.
  5) Having personal and environmental safety information in ordinary and unusual situations
  6) The patient has the ability to position the patient or the injured person appropriately during transport.
