SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the course; to enable students to know the duties and responsibilities of the ship agents, the positions of the agencies in the legal regulations, their types and importance for the shipowner, to understand and interpret the agency appointment letters and to recognize the main documents.
Course Content: The definition of the ship agency, who it has the authority to represent, and its responsibilities to the parties, PDA contents and examples of the agency appointment letters, the types and differences of the ship agency, the importance of the documentation are explained and the documents are introduced.

  7) Explain the relationship between shipping agencies and official authorities.
