PROGRAMME PROFILE

The Communication and Design Bachelor`s Program is an interdisciplinary undergraduate program positioned at the intersection of communication sciences and design disciplines, structured in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process and the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). The program`s level and field classifications are defined within the Beykoz University institutional information systems and ECTS Information Package, in line with national and international qualifications frameworks.

The program has an academic structure that integrates communication theories with visual and digital design practices. This structure, encompassing areas such as visual communication, graphic design, digital media, user experience (UX), interaction design, brand communication, and content production, is based on a holistic approach that considers communication not only as content production but also in conjunction with visual language, user experience, and technology.

The target student profile consists of individuals interested in communication and design, aiming to develop creative and critical thinking skills, possessing high visual literacy, and adaptable to digital production processes. The program content is continuously updated in line with digital transformation, the media ecosystem, and user-centered design approaches.

The education and training process is conducted through theoretical courses, studio work, applied projects, and case studies; The program aims to integrate conceptual knowledge with creative production. A project-based learning approach and interdisciplinary collaborations support students in experiencing sectoral dynamics.

Program-Specific Criteria – Communication and Design Undergraduate Program

PSC-1: Holistic approach to communication and design disciplines; provided through courses such as Communication Theories, Basic Design I–II, Digital Environment I–II, and Visual Perception.

PSC-2: Development of visual communication and design infrastructure; conducted through courses such as Typography I, Art History, and Photography Workshop.

PSC-3: Integration of digital production and design-oriented thinking approach; supported by courses such as Digital Environment I–II and Brand Design.

PSC-4: Linking theoretical knowledge to creative production; achieved through studio, project, and application-based courses.

PSC-5: Development of an interdisciplinary perspective; provided through elective courses such as Advertising Design and Applications and Digital Content Management.

PSC-6: Development of academic thinking and scientific production skills; supported by Philosophy of Science and Scientific Writing courses.
