The Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Digital Game Design is situated at the intersection of design, software, visual arts and interactive media, and is structured in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process and the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). The programme’s level and subject classifications are defined in line with national and international qualifications frameworks.
The programme adopts a holistic approach to digital game production processes, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application in a balanced manner. This structure is based on the integrated study of core components such as game design, game programming, visual design, animation, game engines and interaction design.
The programme is aimed at students who are interested in digital games, wish to develop their creative thinking skills, are open to the fields of design and technology, and are keen to enhance their problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. The programme is designed to help students gain an interdisciplinary perspective and evaluate game production processes from multiple angles.
The teaching and learning process is delivered through theoretical lectures, practical workshops, project-based learning activities and production-focused work based on game development processes. The aim of this process is for students to experience the game development cycle, from the idea generation stage through to prototype production and the creation of the final product.
Programme-Specific Criteria
PSC-1: The programme ensures that the core components of digital game design (game design, programming, visual design and animation) are addressed through a holistic approach within the programme structure.
PSC-2: The integration of theoretical knowledge with game development processes is supported through project-based learning and practice-oriented courses.
PSC-3: By adopting an interdisciplinary educational approach, the programme ensures that the fields of design, technology and art are reflected in the programme content in an interactive manner.
PSC-4: The aim is to structure game production processes to encompass the stages of idea development, design, prototyping and implementation.
PSC-5: The social, cultural and ethical dimensions of digital games are addressed within the programme content from a holistic perspective.
