GENERAL INFORMATION

Physiotherapy and rehabilitation is considered as one of the branches of medicine which has become increasingly important in recent years. Physiotherapy and rehabilitation used in the treatment of many diseases such as rheumatic, orthopedic, neurological, respiratory and cardiovascular diseases accelerate the return to normal life. Physiotherapy attempts to cure diseases of the movement system and restore the impaired functions. Various physical agents such as hot, cold treatments, electric currents, massages and exercises are used for the treatment of diseases. Physiotherapy and rehabilitation, which consists of multifaceted studies to improve the quality of life of patients or people with mobility limitations to the level of quality of life of healthy people, is carried out with a teamwork. Physiotherapy technicians are of great importance in this team, all of which form a ring of a chain. According to the analysis based on the data of the Ministry of Health, there will be a need for 14.000 physical therapy personnel in our country in 2023. The expected supply in the same period is only around 2000. These data indicate that there is a significant need for physical therapy personnel in our country. As it can be understood from here, our program educates students in order to meet the need of physiotherapy technician in our country.
