GENERAL INFORMATION

Seaway transport is the world's oldest transportation form, which dates back to the 3200s, and 84% of the world's transport volume, which has reached 13.55 billion tons today, is carried out by maritime transport. According to the data of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure in Turkey, approximately 310 million tons of foreign trade transport is carried out by seaway. The maritime sector is an industry that has been increasing every year due to the volume of trade, and its development and change is never-ending due to both technology and globalization. The maritime sector is structured in two main areas as “maritime trade ”and “marine tourism”.The priority needs of the maritime transport sector, which consists of several sub-branches and sectors, are trained personnel and qualified labor force.

For this purpose, it is our primary goal to bring the students who are educated in the marine and port management program in line with the needs of the sector in both maritime trade and marine tourism. Our students who prefer to work in maritime trade can work in ports, ship management companies, ship agencies, ship supply companies, brokers, marine insurance companies, line agencies and forwarding companies.

With the investments made in recent years, the number of marinas has reached to 61 and the yacht capacity has been 18261. Students who wish to structure their career goals in marine tourism can work in marinas, yacht chartering and sales firms, insurance companies, yacht suppliers and other large area of marine tourism.
