GENERAL INFORMATION

Logistics is a complementary subject of production and trade, especially when the point of production and point of consumption are not at the same place. Since Turkey is one of the emerging markets in the World which has a geo-politic advantage in its region, is aware of the importance of logistics and the need for qualified human resources. Thus, in last years, Turkey becomes noteworthy for foreign direct investments in logistics sector. The concept of "Supply Chain Management" forces organizations to collaborate and corporate through the distribution channel. Therefore, the word of Prof. Dr. Martin Cristopher about how competition among supply chains takes the place of competition among organizations in today's business World inspires us in preparation of our course contents.

Logistics Program is designed to create a manpower that can take responsibility in all areas of logistics. The students who prefer the program take several logistics courses including logistics management, inventory management, purchasing and supply, warehousing besides other manament courses which help them to improve their knowledge and qualifications. Thereby, the graduates of the program have the opportunity of either finding jobs in the sector or becoming entrepreneurs. The language of the program is Turkish, and the program consists of four semesters.
The logistics sector in our country is a young and dynamic sector that has been developing rapidly in recent years. Turkey is defined by many authorities as a "logistics base" with its advantageous location as a transfer center between the Middle East, the Turkic Republics and Europe and its location on the Silk Road, which is being tried to be revitalized today.
The Logistics Program is designed to create a workforce that can take responsibility in all areas of the logistics industry. Students who choose this program gain the necessary knowledge and skills by taking sectoral courses such as logistics management, inventory management, purchasing and supply, and warehousing, in addition to the basic management courses they take. In this way, they can find a job in the logistics sector according to their qualifications and skills and also have the opportunity to become entrepreneurs.
As Beykoz Logistics Vocational School, we believe in the power of the blue collar. Our primary goals are to train qualified blue collar workers, which is one of the biggest needs of the sector in sustaining logistics activities, and to prepare our students for middle and senior management positions in national and international companies.
