SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this lecture is to teach the students;the basic principles of flight related to aircraft weight and baance, the terms used in the field, various weights used in the compilation of a load shhet, constrict indexes, center of gravity, and the design of trim charts.

Course Content: In this course students will learn; Mass and balance, factors affecting mass and balance in an aircraft, mass definitions and limitations, aircraft weighting and floor loading, load shifting,complilation of load shift, load adding and subtraction, Mean Aerodynamic Cord, centre of gravity calculations, constrict indexes, and design of trim charts.

  2) The student recognize the terms used in the field.
  3) The student knows the terms about mass and balance.
  4) Student knows fuel definitions and limitations.
  5) Identify the various weights used in the compilation of a load sheet.
  6) Analyze the use of indexes.
  7) Analyze the Mean Aerodynamic Cord (MAC) % of the plane.
  8) Knows the center of the gravity (CG) of a plane and makes calculations.
  9) Recognize the design of trim and table chart.
  10) Review the standart manual load sheet and drop line trim chart.
