SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: To describe the role of illustration in mass media and advertising. To gain the ability to produce visual solutions through illustration for abstract concepts and emotional themes.
Course Content: The history of the art of illustration throughout history and the expression of today's usage of illustration. Examination of illustrations which created for various kinds of projects in the terms of functionality, composition, authenticity etc. Production of illustrations on selected topics.

  1) Having knowledge about the meaning of illustration, historical development, basic concepts, aesthetic and technical information. Awareness of social function.
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) To gain dominance in the software used in illustration of today's design world.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Having an idea about the originality and aesthetic dimension of the illustration and using it effectively.
  2) The ability to access necessary electronic or printed resources in the field of illustration as needed.
  3) To gain the ability to use illustration as a solution in design life.
  4) The capacity to realize a project of interdisciplinary production and to carry out a project using different features effectively.
