SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator programs to gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
Course Content: Developing the technical knowledge and application skills necessary to design graphic design products with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator programs.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) are those describing the knowledge, skills and competencies that students are expected to achieve upon successful completion of the course. In this context, Course Learning Outcomes defined for this course unit are as follows:
Knowledge (Described as Theoritical and/or Factual Knowledge.)
  1) 1-Recognize the relevant principles of basic communication, design and graphic design. 2-Used in graphic design, has enough knowledge to use computer programs. 3-Has knowledge about professional responsibility values and ethical rules. 4-Art and design in the field of recognition and will follow. 5-Recognizes computer-aided graphic design programs. 6-Know the design, application and printing stages.
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) 1- It has aesthetic point of view to produce graphic design product. 2-Create graphic design products and projects. 3-Designs all kinds of graphic design product. 4-Uses computer-aided graphic design programs effectively and quickly. 5-Identifies the pre-print and post-print stages of the design.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) 1-In the process of creating graphic design products, they independently prepare the ideas, drafts, concept creation, application and prepress processes. 2-Advertising agencies, graphic design studios, advertising departments of companies; create advertising campaign concepts and design products. 3-Has the ability to present and present its designs, projects. 4-Refreshing communication and design aspects are followed by current computer programs.
  2) 1-Evaluates the advanced knowledge obtained in the field of graphic design with a critical approach. 2-Will have the consciousness of the necessity of lifelong learning. 3-Continuously develops professional knowledge and skills. 4-It gains the ability to evaluate its designs from an objective point of view.
  3) 1-Designs all kinds of graphic design products according to design criteria. 2-Has the ability to use professional computer programs professionally, efficiently and quickly. 3-Prepare concept and design professional products. 4 - Professional responsibilities related to work areas such as advertising agencies and design studios are capable of acting in accordance with their ethical values.
  4) 1-The team has the ability to be involved in their work in a harmonious, productive and effective manner. 2. To communicate verbally, in written and visual form to prepare advanced presentations.
