SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: The use of photography in different interiors, under artificial light, for example in the studio, as well as outside use, requires great care, attention and knowledge. The photographer is in control by taking pictures in the studio with a certain technical equipment and appropriate equipment. For this very reason, the state of being attentive in the sentence above is of particular importance.
There are important factors such as the use of artificial light, the selection of equipment suitable for the subject and object to be photographed, the use of appropriate light, and the creation of lighting conditions in creating the composition and defining the communication with the product.
As students will do individual work in the studio, each of them will be there as a spectator and a helping eye during this time. Studies are carried out to enable the photographer to continue their work by exchanging ideas when necessary, without interfering with the shooting areas.
One of the important features that should be created in the studio is concentration. It is beneficial to place each material carefully, to be aware of where it is pressed, to be able to observe situations such as the decrease or increase in light power, and to be in a constant awareness.
Course Content: In this course, the theoretical and practical working practices of photography are made. Students are provided to make a start with topics such as the correct use of the machine, the use of artificial light, its placement in the studio, its installation, removal, light-object relationship, composition.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) are those describing the knowledge, skills and competencies that students are expected to achieve upon successful completion of the course. In this context, Course Learning Outcomes defined for this course unit are as follows:
Knowledge (Described as Theoritical and/or Factual Knowledge.)
  1) Defines the concepts on the camera.
  2) Defines the concepts on artificial light.
  3) Knows the effect of artificial light on the object.
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) The unique language of photography, which is a visual discipline, gives it the ability to display its subject as desired by keeping control in an environment such as a studio.
  2) Shooting in the studio can give the student an interest in different disciplines.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Knows that photography is a visual language and is a means of expression and communication when used well.
  2) The product has practice on model shoots.
  3) Learns the discipline of shooting in a team and alone.
  4) Determines his approach to objects during shooting, obeys ethical rules.
