SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: A student who successfully completes this course will be able to learn and apply the theoretical and practical dynamics of program making processes at a basic level by using studio facilities. Will be able to learn the preparations before the program, how to set up and manage a team and equipment.
Course Content: The courses include the students to experience the things to be done before and during the production of the programs prepared in the studio environment and to have knowledge about the process. In the theoretical explanation of the course, the process from preparing the program to the end will be conveyed. The management of the team, equipment needs will be defined. This whole process will involve applications.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) are those describing the knowledge, skills and competencies that students are expected to achieve upon successful completion of the course. In this context, Course Learning Outcomes defined for this course unit are as follows:
Knowledge (Described as Theoritical and/or Factual Knowledge.)
  1) Explains the studio as a structure. The program covers the thinking process, formatting and team-equipment building knowledge
  2) Defines process communication.
  3) Explain what will be done before, during and after the broadcast.
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) May have knowledge about converting an idea into a program.
  2) Learn the studio structure, equipment and application.
  3) Can learn to position light, camera and decor in multi-camera application.
  4) They can acquire basic application skills about the director room and its equipment.
  5) Will be able to understand how to set up and manage a studio team and communicate with these team members.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Will be able to design the necessary intellectual processes for the studio program.
  2) Can learn the types of programs and the necessary preparations for them.
  3) Can learn how to design and finish a program from start to finish.

1) Getting acquainted, creation of teacher-student communication channels, Introduction: The scope and objectives of the course, introduction to defining the program, studio, studio equipment and team.
2) Introduction to program creation, producer, formatting, applicable content control, format assignment, camera, lighting and decor positioning
3) Evaluation of format assignments, legal and institutional reservations that need to be considered while going to the shooting stage, team building process, (students are divided into groups of at most five and prepare an applicable format and make it ready for publication). Guest (foresight): program formatting
4) Creating framing, studio lighting types, framing, studio application without director (The student experiences the use of multiple cameras while gaining knowledge about camera, decor, lighting application. Thus, he constructs the directorial in his mind.
5) Studio sound systems, definition of sound, equipment used, picture desk and KJ systems, practical integration of camera, light, decor and director room and preparation for broadcast, Homework: Shooting a guest program with the butterfly system on the montage set (the presenter must be a student and there must be a guest)
6) Evaluation of the process from creating the format to the preparation of the studio and preparing the studio according to a selected format. The aim is to make the whole process ready for the registration of the director who will start in the next lessons.
7) Television programs: News, news programs, lifestyle programs, economy programs and promotions, live broadcast and tape broadcast, submission and evaluation of the headless studio application, Homework: Program formatting related to the above listed television programs, making them ready for shooting and defending in the next lesson
8) Midterm
9) Problems and process management in the production processes of the program, backing up images during the broadcast, defending the homework given in the previous lesson, and making this format ready for broadcast for the final exam.

13) Review of the whole process, evaluation of the withdrawn programs.
