SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: A student who successfully completes this course defines the theoretical and practical dynamics of the lighting equipment required in the production of television programs and applies them at a basic level. Can experience pre-program preparations and use equipment. Learns the historical process of the use of light for television and cinema.
Course Content: The courses will introduce students to the lighting elements required for television programs and cinema. It involves evaluating what to do in terms of lighting during the shooting of television programs and movies and gaining experience by seeing these processes. In the theoretical explanation of the course, the historical process of artistic light use will be touched upon. The process from preparing the Television Program light to post-production will be conveyed. All these processes will be reinforced with applications.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) are those describing the knowledge, skills and competencies that students are expected to achieve upon successful completion of the course. In this context, Course Learning Outcomes defined for this course unit are as follows:
Knowledge (Described as Theoritical and/or Factual Knowledge.)
  1) It defines the motion picture and television program lighting production process, team-equipment creation and process communication. It describes the production processes of cinema film lighting, television actual lighting and studio program lighting.
  2) Explains what to do before, during and after construction.
  3) Gain basic knowledge about Cinema and Television lighting equipment.
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) Experiences the process of editing the light required for production
  2) Defines the lighting equipment used in Actual and Studio programs.
  3) Positions light, camera and props in a multi-camera application.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
