SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: A student who successfully completes this course defines and applies the theoretical and practical dynamics of television program production processes at a basic level. Plans the preparations before the program, has experience in establishing and managing a team, and can use the equipment.
Course Content: The courses include students' evaluation of what will be done before and during the production of television programs and to have experience by seeing all these processes. In the theoretical explanation of the course, the process from preparing the program to the post-production will be conveyed. All these processes will be reinforced with applications.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) are those describing the knowledge, skills and competencies that students are expected to achieve upon successful completion of the course. In this context, Course Learning Outcomes defined for this course unit are as follows:
Knowledge (Described as Theoritical and/or Factual Knowledge.)
  1) Defines the programme thinking process, formatting and team-equipment creation and process communication. Explains current and studio programs
  2) Explains what will be done before, during and after the broadcast.
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) Experiences the process of turning an idea into a program
  2) Defines the structure and equipment of Actual and Studio programs.
  3) Positions light, camera and decor in multi camera application.
  4) Gains basic information about the director room and its equipment.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Evaluates the applications related to camera, decor, light, sound and painting.
  2) Knows the types of programs and the necessary preparations for them.
  3) Sees how a program is designed and produced from start to finish
  4) Understands the process of establishing and managing the Actual and Studio team and the communication process with these team members.

1) Introduction: Introduction to the scope and objectives of the course, defining the program, studio, studio equipment and team
2) Introduction to program creation, producer, format creation, applicable content control, form assignment, guest (foresight) camera, lighting and decor positioning
3) Evaluation of format assignments, legal and institutional reservations to be considered while going to the shooting stage, team building process
4) Framing, current and studio program light types, framing, studio application without director
5) Studio sound systems, definition of sound, equipment used, picture desk and KJ systems, practical integration of camera, light, decor and director room and preparation for broadcast
6) Evaluation of the process from creating the format to the preparation of the studio and preparing the studio according to a selected format. Television programs: News, news programs, lifestyle programs, economy programs and promotions, live broadcast and tape broadcast, Homework: Program formatting for the above listed television programs, making them ready for shooting
7) Midterm
8) Problems experienced in program production processes and process management, image backup
9) Program shooting application (cooking program)
10) Program shooting application (training program)
11) Program shooting application (studio clip shooting or current promotion)
12) Review of the whole process, evaluation of the programs drawn.
13) Evaluation and interpretation of the preparations of the final projects that are ready for shooting.
14) Final review
