SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the business operations’ financial aspects. In this context, the main aim of the course is to transform the way and techniques of using the information formed by the accounting information system in management decisions into decision-making functions with comprehensible mechanisms for companies and managerial organizations.
Course Content: Managerial Accounting performs the function of providing managers with the form, scope, and time cost information they need while performing their planning, control and decision-making functions. The course also enables managers to identify, measure, analyze and interpret financial information in order to accomplish the business’ goals.

Course Specific Rules

At least 70% attendance is expected.

  1) Identify the relevant costs in a make-or-buy decision.
  2) Identify the relevant costs in deciding whether to eliminate an unprofitable segment or product.
  3) Understand how operating leverage affects profitability.
