SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the emergence of the discipline; historical background of the current international system; fundamental concepts, theories, structures, institutions of the international relations as well as contemporary debates in the field.
Course Content: Within the scope of this course, the emergence of the discipline; historical background of the current global system; the theories of international relations; international law and organizations; and the concepts such as nation-state, securitization, power, inequality and gender are covered.
