SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: Intense competition conditions of businesses, makes their work with high performance. All functions such as finding and using financial resources necessary for the creation and maintenance of activities, new product for the future creation of designs, determination and application of new technology need, finding new methods in the marketing of products are performed by the human resources owned by the business.
In order for businesses to maintain their competitiveness or advantages and to be differentiated from their contemporaries, they have to manage their human resources effectively and efficiently.
The aim of this course is to analyze and organize human resources, human resources planning, recruitment, and detailed analysis. In addition, emphasis will be placed on training and training, performance appraisal and career management, job appraisal and wage management, discipline and labor relations.
Course Content: This course teaches students the concept of basic human resource management functions such as planning, job analysis, staffing and selection, orientation, training, training and development, performance and career management, reward and remuneration.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) are those describing the knowledge, skills and competencies that students are expected to achieve upon successful completion of the course. In this context, Course Learning Outcomes defined for this course unit are as follows:

  1) Students will have general information about Human Resources Management and basic functions of Human Resources Management.
  2) Within the scope of human resources planning, knows how the need for manpower is determined in a business and from which sources it can be met, employee selection processes, interview and test methods.
  3) Explains the concept of career and career management process.
  4) Students will have knowledge about orientation training in enterprises, training needs analysis, preparation and implementation of training programs, training methods and measurement and evaluation in training.
  5) Has a basic knowledge of performance evaluation, salary and wage applications in businesses.
  6) Has knowledge about workplace practices on occupational health and safety.
