SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to increase students' awareness of the needs of various functions, work efficiency and economic efficiency to increase the assessment of the luminaires and settlements to be used for the proper lighting design.
Course Content: Inform about basic lighting terms, lighting calculations and types of luminaires. Providing information about the lighting according to the functions of the interior spaces, increasing the efficiency of the work, evaluating the economic efficiency.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) are those describing the knowledge, skills and competencies that students are expected to achieve upon successful completion of the course. In this context, Course Learning Outcomes defined for this course unit are as follows:
Knowledge (Described as Theoritical and/or Factual Knowledge.)
  1) In interior designs, firstly, it is aimed at the solutions that can benefit from natural lighting, light sources in artificial lighting and efficient arrangement of in-house positions.
  2) Knows the quantity and quality of lighting and can use them in their projects
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) Can make indoor lighting calculations.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) In the interior design, firstly choosing the methods of using sunlight effectively for natural lighting, and then determining the sustainable, sustainable and qualified lighting technique for the desired effect.

10) Systems used for natural lighting in buildings. Windows and features, windows, newly developed contemporary daylight systems. Light shelves, solar tunnels, skylights.
11) The distribution of light levels and the basic rules of architectural lighting.
12) Architectural lighting issues; residences and hotels; presentation of the images related to these issues.
13) Architectural lighting topics: Gyms, educational buildings, shops, conference halls, museums and outdoor subjects; presentation of the visuals.
