PROGRAMME PROFILE |
The Maritime and Port Management associate degree program is a vocationally oriented and practice-intensive higher education program. It is defined as a "short cycle" program under the Qualifications Framework of the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA), and as a Level 5 program under the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF-LLL), the Turkish Qualifications Framework (TQF/TYÇ), and the Higher Education Qualifications Framework of Turkey (HEQFT/TYYÇ). The program is designed to meet the institutional needs of the sector at the relevant field and level, providing graduates with foundational knowledge and practical application competences aimed at employment within the related sector or sectors.

Versatile Communication Skills: Strong representation and persuasion skills stand out, as there will be continuous communication with agencies, shipowners, port workers, customs officers, and international crews.
2. Sectoral and Professional Fields of Interest
Interested in Global Trade and Logistics: Eager to learn how world trade revolves, shipping routes, and the functioning of the supply chain.
Sympathetic to Maritime Culture: Interested in maritime customs and traditions, marine tourism, yachting, and the port atmosphere, rather than seeing it merely as a "job."
3. Language and Academic Tendencies
Willing to Learn a Foreign Language: The global language of shipping is English. Even though the program`s language of instruction is Turkish, candidates who are determined to improve their English to understand international documents (bills of lading, manifests, etc.) and communicate with foreign vessels should be targeted.
