The Bachelor`s Program in Cartoon and Animation is an undergraduate program offering art and design-based education in accordance with the Bologna Process and ECTS principles. The program aims to train animation artists who possess creative thinking skills, are technically proficient, and can develop a critical perspective. Within the scope of the education, students gain competence in production processes such as 2D and 3D animation, character and environment design, storyboarding, modeling, motion editing, and post-production, while also acquiring theoretical knowledge in areas such as animation history, visual culture, and narrative theories. The program offers a practice-oriented structure with workshops, studio work, and project-based productions. Students produce short animation films and digital content; they can also develop themselves in game design, VFX, and new media. Graduates can work in various creative positions in the animation, gaming, advertising, and media industries, produce independent projects, or continue their academic careers.
PÖÖ1. They will possess theoretical knowledge of animation and visual storytelling; they will evaluate animation history, visual culture, and narrative theories from a critical and analytical perspective.
PÖÖ2. They will plan and implement cartoon and animation production processes (idea development, script, storyboard, character and setting design, animatic, production, and post-production) with a holistic approach.
PÖÖ3. They will produce creative, original, and platform-appropriate animation content by integrating 2D and 3D animation techniques, visual aesthetic principles, and narrative elements; They effectively use current digital tools and software.
PÖÖ4. Acts in accordance with ethical principles, copyrights, and professional standards in animation production processes; actively participates in individual and team work, applying project management, workflow organization, and communication skills.
PÖÖ5. Follows current developments in animation and creative industries; can maintain professional and artistic development with critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills.
