SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE |
Course Objectives: | |
Course Content: | This course covers research methods in social sciences. Students will first be introduced to the theoretical foundations of scientific research, followed by the process of research design and different research designs. This is followed by sampling, measurement and scaling and data collection techniques. Next, the focus will be on qualitative and quantitative research designs and data analysis. Descriptive analysis, hypothesis testing, regression, content analysis and case study analysis will be introduced as data analysis methods. Finally, ethics of scientific research and how to write a research report will be covered. |
