Course Objectives: |
Students who take this course will be able to evaluate the main discussions in audience studies. At the end of the term, students are expected to identify the audience processes in transformation; compare the interaction between audiences and traditional, hybrid and cross media; analyse media content in relation to the ideological and cultural contexts. |

Media literacy and its importance in the world and Turkey media literacy process, communication process, elements and communication, mass media, communication and mass media relations, media functions, the economic dimension, television, television broadcasting in Turkey, the television program types, families, children and television (TV viewing habits), Negative effects of TV, TV program analysis, stimulating icons, Radio, functions, radio program types and analysis, Periods, functions, newspaper and magazine, basic concepts, importance of news and photography in the newspaper, newspaper preparation application, journal types Media, ethics and legislation |
