SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: Understanding people's behavior in the workplace is extremely important to manage human resources successfully. In today's world, where competition is increasing rapidly, the way to success is through understanding the events that occur based on human and group behaviors within the business and analyzing the relationships between them better. The topics included in this course will increase the awareness of the participants and help them to better understand the behavior of the people and groups they work with and to take successful steps by predicting the results.
Course Content: Organizational behavior addresses issues at three levels: individual, group and organization. In this context, it includes subjects as personality, perception and attribution process, job satisfaction, motivation theories, communication, leadership theories, power and policy, organizational structures, organizational development and change, stress management, entrepreneurship, performance management, corporate culture and ethics.

  1) Explain individual, group and organizational behaviors within the organization.
  2) Lists the attitudes of employees that are important for business life and explains the importance of these attitudes for both the employee and the organization.
  3) Explains the importance of macro level facts such as organizational culture, organizational change and their effects on the employee.
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) Understands the group and team dynamics and analyzes the role of the leader in these dynamics.
  2) Analyze the effects of culture and cultural values on the way they do business and organizational practices.
  3) Applies the basic concepts learned in the course to solve real business problems.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Explains motivation concepts and theories and explains the tools and purposes that can be used to motivate employees.
