SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to teach fundamental principles and concepts of economics. Students will understand the relation between economic actors, scarcity and efficient allocation of resources in this course. Students will have knowledge of demand and supply, consumer behaivor, firm behaivor, production and costs and markets.
Course Content: Principles of economics, scarcity, resource allocation, preferences and production possibility frontier, deman, supply and market equilibrium, demand and supply elasticities, government policies, consumer behaivor, costs of production, production function and economies of scale, firms in competitive markets, monopoly, monopolistic competition and oligopoly
