SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives:

With this course, it is aimed that the students will have knowledge on the macro-economic indicators to monitor the economy of Turkey, and the knowledge to understand the European Union (EU) and its institutions.

Course Content:

After evaluation of the developments of Turkey economy since the foundation of the Turkish Republic, the explanations on the socio-economic indicators in Turkey and sector analysis are made. The general structure of foreign trade in Turkey and the development of foreign trade by country are described. Turkey-EU relations, and information on developments in trade between Turkey and the EU are provided.
