SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: By providing information about the incentive tools and the incentive systems in which export-oriented enterprises can be benefited, students are encouraged to gain ability to apply the incentives and to analyze the justifications and to have the necessary skills and equipments
Course Content: The aim of this course is to give students general information about foreign trade and investment incentives, types of incentives and their classification, and application basics in Turkey. The course covers detailed explanations about the incentives given on the basis of institutions, VAT exemption, Inward Processing Regime, Outward Processing Regime, government supports, Turk Eximbank credits and Free Zones.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) are those describing the knowledge, skills and competencies that students are expected to achieve upon successful completion of the course. In this context, Course Learning Outcomes defined for this course unit are as follows:

  1) Explains the place and importance of foreign trade policies in the foreign trade policy.
  2) Defines foreign trade incentives types. Revises the evolution of the incentives in Turkey.
Skills (Describe as Cognitive and/or Practical Skills.)
  1) Explains the current foreign trade incentives in Turkey and introduces the institutions giving the incentives. Explains the necessary procedures to benefit from foreign trade incentives.
  2) Distinguishes which firm can benefit from which foreign trade incentives. Explains the documents that should be prepared in order to benefit from foreign trade incentives.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
