SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: The main aim of the course is to provide students with the concept and knowledge to discuss the effects of mass media on directing societies. In addition, to develop intellectual benefit by processing world political economy and the workings of public life with daily examples in order to gain the ability to analyze and criticize.
Course Content: Along with the history of mass media, turning points in communication, marketing, advertising and political history are covered. Today's news and advertisement contents are evaluated by discussing how the obtained historical information transforms and directs public life. He studies the meaning and importance of media literacy.
