SECTION II: INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE

Course Objectives & Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to ensure flight safety during the transport of dangerous goods with the passenger; by training the cabin staff and ensuring the correct application of rules
Course Content: To ensure flight safety during the transportation of dangerous goods, the cabin crew must be trained to ensure the correct application of the rules to establish flight safety correct. For this reason the students should be brought up at a desired knowledge and skills about the following topics: the overall philosophy of the rules of dangerous goods, application of the rules of dangerous goods, the definition of dangerous goods, general transport requirements, the responsibilities during the transport of dangerous goods, the responsibilities of shipper and carrier, the limits of dangerous goods, the dangerous goods which are forbidden to transport by airlines, hidden dangerous goods, the permitted dangerous goods which can be carried by passengers and crew, the transport of dangerous goods by air mail, Dangerous goods in Operator’s property, the dangerous goods permitted to be carried by air cargo, exceptional amount of dangerous goods, restricted quantities of dangerous goods, liquid restrictions of DGCA, hazard classes of dangerous goods, explosives, gases, flammable liquids, flammable solids, oxidizers, organic peroxides, toxic and infectious substances, radioactive substances, abrasives, Various dangerous goods, labeling and marking of dangerous goods, Notoc form, Procedures to be applied in case of emergency involving dangerous goods.

  4) Learning of Labeling and marking of dangerous goods

  1) They learn the rules about the transportation of dangerous goods in the airways.
Competences (Described as "Ability of the learner to apply knowledge and skills autonomously with responsibility", "Learning to learn"," Communication and social" and "Field specific" competences.)
  1) Recognizes the documents used in Dangerous Goods Transportation.
  2) They describes the loading, unloading and stacking conditions of dangerous goods according to their transportation modes.
  3) Hazardous Material recognizes and identifies the markings and labeling on the packages carried.
  4) Have an information about the dangerous goods forbidden to transport by airlines and hidden dangerous goods
  5) They have general information about IATA DGR rules applicable for the transportation of Dangerous Goods by international airline.
  6) Know the rules of liquid restriction of DGCA
  7) Have practical knowledge about dangerous goods
