Course Objectives: |
The student who takes this course will analyze the structure of the furniture, the function of the parts that make up the furniture design, the connection points and details that provide the combination of the pieces in the furniture, and bring the function of applicability to the furniture they designed.
The features of furniture design, ergonomic, social, economic and psychological complex, human-furniture relationship, functionality, material, structure, detail, etc. By evaluating with basic information, furniture design, projecting and production forms include theoretical and applied design, design and creative problem solving features in detail. |
Course Content: |
The content of the course includes the furniture design process, the basic elements of furniture design; form, functionality, structure, ergonomics, material, cost, topics are introduced. The content is complemented by the relationship between furniture and materials, introducing the materials used in furniture, examining the anatomy of furniture and analyzing it through examples, discussion on the function of the pieces that make up a piece of furniture, the discovery of the connection points for the combination of the pieces in the furniture, and the analysis of the details for the operability of the furniture design. Within the scope of the application project, problem analysis, design idea development and creative thinking, detail development and analysis in design, design process management experience and designing a product with an original and workable system are included in the content of the course.
