AİM OF THE PROGRAMME

The Department of Political Science and International Relations aims to provide students with a general perspective in the main argumentations of the sub-fields of the discipline, and to enable students with theoretical competence, professional competence and a capacity for distinguishing and interpreting the present practical problems of the political environment using interdisciplinary theoretical tools. In this context, the student's recognition of both the various political theories formed within the historical process and the socio-political context in which these theories are formed become important. The Department aims to support students in reaching a comparative level of understanding of the political systems and the various levels on which these systems are built in the field of international relations worldwide, with a specific emphasis at recognizing the dynamics of historical and contemporary context of the political field in Turkey and its neighbors.
