Institutional outcomes of Beykoz University which are defined in different levels for each education degree, independent of the learning outcomes defined for their area in their programs stand for the mutual outcomes that are aimed for each student to acquire.
Our university aims the students to acquire institutional outcomes defined and 14 key competencies below by supporting them with “Competency Development Program” in their course syllabus. They are constituted by 8 key competencies which are suggested by European Commission for each citizen in EU member and candidate countries also proposed within Turkey Competency Framework in order for them to adjust the changes in the society.
Key Competencies of Beykoz University:
These key competencies determined by the university are associated with “14 Sub Program Learning Outcome (SPLO) under one Key Program Learning Outcome (KPLO) in different levels for each education degree and defined as a mutual learning outcome among the programs’ learning outcomes.
INSTITUTIONAL LEARNING OUTCOMES OF ASSOCIATE PROGRAMS:
KPLO: S/he acquires the competencies that develop in line with the expectations of business world and the society defined as the institutional outcomes of our university on the basic level in relation with his/her field.
SPLO 1) Acquires competency of analyzing and solving the problems.
SPLO 2) Has awareness for ethical and social responsibility.
SPLO 3) Takes responsibility as a team member in works and operations of his/her field.
SPLO 4) Is aware of written, verbal communication and interaction.
SPLO 5) Follows the developments of advanced technology and digital transformation.
SPLO 6) Acquires the awareness for lifelong learning.
SPLO 7) Has awareness about citizenship competency.
SPLO 8) Evaluates the developments of his/her field with the understanding of an entrepreneur.
SPLO 9) Acquires communication in a Foreign Language (English) competence defined on the level of at least A2 in European Language Portfolio. (In programs whose medium of instruction is English, on the level of B1).
INSTITUTIONAL LEARNING OUTCOMES OF BACHELOR PROGRAMS:
KPLO: S/he acquires the competencies that develop by the expectations of business world and the society defined as the institutional outcomes of our university on the advanced level in relation with his/her field.
SPLO 1) Acquires the analyzing solving the problems and managing the conflicts.
SPLO 2) Participates as a team member and takes responsibility in the environments that require the solving of the conflicts and acts as a leader when necessary.
SPLO 3) Has awareness for ethical and social responsivity.
SPLO 4) By supporting the learnt courses with quantitative and qualitative data; and by using verbal and visual communication means, s/he transfers them to the groups within and outside his/her group in a systematical and effective way.
SPLO 5) Evaluates the norms and standards present in the works in which s/he takes responsibility in a critical point of view.
SPLO 6) Develops strategical, innovative and entrepreneurial ideas.
SPLO 7) Acquires competence of managing the change.
SPLO 8) Shows development personally and socially with and awareness for lifelong learning.
SPLO 9) Follows advanced technologies and developments about digital transformation.
SPLO 10) Has cultural awareness and s/he transfers this to the groups within and outside his/her field.
SPLO 11) Has awareness about citizenship competency.
SPLO 12) Acquires communication in a Foreign Language (English) competence defined on the level of at least B1 in European Language Portfolio. (In programs whose medium of instruction is English, on the level of B2/B2+).
INSTITUTIONAL LEARNING OUTCOMES OF GRADUATE PROGRAMS:
KPLO: In addition to the bachelor level competencies already acquired, s/he acquires the competencies that develop by the expectations of business world and the society defined as the institutional outcomes of our university on the professional level in business and/or academic life.
SPLO 1) Develops analyzing problems, solving them and managing the conflicts competence in the expert level.
SPLO 2) Participates as a team member in the environments that require the solving of the conflicts and acts as a leader when necessary
SPLO 3) Evaluates the norms and standards present in the works in which s/he takes responsibility in a critical point of view, develops innovative and entrepreneurial ideas.
SPLO 4) Aware of the advanced technology and digital transformation possibilities in his/her works.
SPLO 5) By supporting the learnt courses with quantitative and qualitative data; and by using verbal and visual communication means, s/he transfers them to the groups within and outside his/her field in a systematical and effective way.
