ECTS CREDİT ALLOCATİON

ECTS is a student-centered credit system based on the workload of the student. The student workload which is composed of fulltime work of the student over an academic year corresponds to 36/40 weeks per year and 1 credit corresponds to 25-30 hours of working. The workload is based on the completion of the required learning outputs by the students. Learning outputs describe what a student will learn, understand and be able to do after the completion of a successful learning process.   

Beykoz University is a higher education institution that provides its students with a qualification at associate degree level. The total ECTS credit for the Associate Degree Programs is 120 ECTS. This is consistent with the regulations in the Qualifications Frameworks in the European Higher Education Area (QF-EHEA) together with the regulations in the National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education in Turkey (TYYÇ).

ECTS credits for the courses in the degree programs have been allocated considering that maximum hours a student can spend for all education and training activities in a week are 45 and the time assigned for all education and training activities in a semester is 17 weeks; that is, 14 weeks of courses plus 1 week of break and 2 additional weeks of semester final examinations, in accordance with the total workload calculated for one semester, with 1 ECTS credit corresponding to 25,5 hours of student workload.

ECTS credits allocated on the basis of the student workload are reviewed according to the results of the “Student Workload Survey” applied to the students at the end of each semester and updated when necessary.
