| Course Objectives: |
The aim of this course is to introduce the main theories and practices in the field of conflict and peace studies and to enable students to analyze conflicts, evaluate conflict resolution processes, and critically assess peacebuilding policies and strategies. The course also aims to develop students’ negotiation, mediation, and communication skills and to examine contemporary peace processes through case studies. |
| Course Content: |
This course covers the concept and evolution of conflict resolution, approaches and methods of conflict analysis, negotiation and mediation techniques, peace processes and peacebuilding, transitional justice mechanisms, power-sharing models, failures and deadlocks in peace processes, secessionism and international recognition. Case studies, simulations, and student presentations will be conducted throughout the course. |
